Now in private development
Tillar builds a structured model of how you think about client problems — and turns it into tools that work without you in the room. Your expertise, available to more clients, in more situations, without more of your time.
The problem Tillar solves
The independent consultant's toolkit hasn't changed in twenty years. Slide decks, spreadsheet models, Word documents. Tools that capture outputs, not the reasoning that produced them.
Your diagnostic instinct — the questions you know to ask, the patterns you've learned to recognise, the sequence that actually surfaces what's happening — exists only inside you. It walks in the door with you. It doesn't scale. And when you're not in the room, it isn't either.
What Tillar builds
Before Tillar can build anything useful for your clients, it needs to understand how you work. Not what you know — how you think. The questions you reach for first. The patterns you've learned to recognise. The things you assume before you've seen the data. Tillar captures that structure and holds it — so it can work without you.
Every experienced consultant has a unit of analysis — the thing they look for first when they walk into a problem. Tillar identifies yours from how you actually respond to situations, not from what you say about yourself.
Before you have data, you have instincts. The things you expect to find. The patterns that trigger your attention. The starting points you reach for under pressure. Tillar surfaces these as a structured set of working hypotheses — yours, not a generic consultant's.
Consultants disagree about how organisations change. Whether the problem is structural or behavioural. Whether to start with the people or the process. Your philosophy shapes every recommendation you make. Tillar captures it.
Every lens has edges. The dimensions a consultant consistently under-weights. The assumptions that go unchecked. The things outside their natural scope. Tillar identifies these — not to correct them, but to make them visible.
How it works
Tillar doesn't ask you to describe how you work. It puts you in front of real situations and reads how you respond. The result is a Canvas that captures what you actually do — not the version you'd articulate if asked.
Tillar presents you with a situation from your domain and watches how you read it — what you'd want to know, which interpretation you reach for, what you'd expect to find before you've asked a question. Around 30 minutes for the full picture; the first layer takes five.
From how you respond — not what you say — Tillar builds a structured model of your thinking across four dimensions: how you read situations, what you assume, how you think change happens, and where your perspective has edges. Specific to you, not assembled from a template.
The first product built on your Canvas is a diagnostic tool shaped entirely by how you work — the questions you'd ask, in the order you'd ask them, tuned to your specific domain and the way you think about client problems. Client-facing from day one.
The first product
The diagnostic Tillar produces isn't a generic framework with your name on it. It's built from the structure of how you actually approach client problems — which means it asks the questions you would ask, in the way you would ask them.
Who Tillar is built for
Tillar is for consultants who have built genuine expertise — and want to make it work harder than it currently can.
You work across multiple clients in a defined domain. You have a way of seeing problems that gets results — but it's hard to explain, harder to systematise, and it doesn't work when you're not in the room. Tillar changes that.
You step into organisations for specific engagements. A diagnostic built on how you actually think helps you assess faster, onboard more credibly, and give clients something tangible in the first week — before the full engagement has begun.
You have a team, a methodology, and clients — but your IP lives in your best people's heads, not in systems. Tillar gives you infrastructure to encode how your most experienced consultants think, and make it available across the practice.
"The competitive advantage of the expert consultant isn't information. It's interpretation — knowing which questions reveal what's actually happening, and why. Tillar is infrastructure for that."

Early access
Tillar is in private development. We're opening early access to a small group of independent consultants who want to shape the product from the ground up. You can also try the demo now — it takes about five minutes and gives you a first read of how Tillar sees your thinking.
We'll be in touch when early access opens. In the meantime — if you have questions or want to share what you're working on, write to us at hello@tillar.io.
No noise. We'll only contact you about early access and product updates.
